THE CATALOG, IN THE OPEN

Every connection has a source.

Parasocial connects a creator’s public work, accounts, and projects. A useful profile explains who creates the work, where to explore it, and why the information belongs together.

01 · DISCOVER

Start with the work.

Find candidates through a public creator website, a platform profile, an original article, or an existing creator’s explicit collaboration links. Prioritize distinct topics and useful public work over follower count alone.

Record the original discovery URL and a specific inclusion reason. Current profiles focus on public creators; they are not a directory of private individuals.

02 · CONNECT

Follow explicit account links.

Use links from the creator’s own website or established accounts. A matching name, handle, or photo by itself is insufficient to connect two accounts. Keep the evidence URL and check date with every account.

Retired handles, unexpected redirects, and conflicting identities go back for review. Preserve stable creator IDs when an account changes.

03 · ENRICH

Add a useful window into their world.

Capture public follower displays with their precision, selected original posts with short editorial descriptions, and explicitly linked shops, memberships, newsletters, or projects.

Never replace missing data with estimates. Public offerings do not establish revenue. Content previews link to the original and do not reproduce full articles, private posts, or paywalled material.

04 · REVIEW & PUBLISH

Make each addition reviewable.

Require an inclusion reason, explicit account evidence, and at least one sourced original content preview per new creator. Upload the candidate package to Catalog imports, inspect its evidence and identity links, and record an editorial decision. Validation catches malformed data; an editor still checks what the sources actually establish.

Approval keeps a candidate private. The owner publishes a specific set of approved revisions, making those profiles available immediately. Edits require another review. Personal submissions stay separate, and corrections retain a review history.

What “total followers” means here

The total is the sum of available follower and subscriber snapshots across a creator’s platforms. The same person can follow on several platforms, so it is not a unique audience. Rounded platform displays are converted to approximate values for filtering and sorting. Lower-bound displays are identified; unknown counts remain unknown.

Each profile shows how many eligible accounts have counts, with individual source dates. Websites, Discord invites, and Patreon links are excluded from this sum. Filters apply to the captured total across platforms, even when a platform filter is selected. No growth, reach, engagement, or earnings estimate is inferred from these snapshots.

Useful snapshots, honest gaps.

Catalog posts are selected, dated previews. A platform can have a sourced account link without a captured post or follower count. Profiles show those gaps explicitly. External links and videos can change after capture.

For fresh updates from supported public feeds, visit Live & latest. Those checks do not refresh the catalog’s dated previews or follower counts. Selecting a supported catalog post loads its official platform player or widget. YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, and X have in-page viewing support. Twitch and Kick channel players are separate from captured posts. Restricted posts, unsupported clips, and complete articles keep their source links.

Corrections and creator control

Use the source links to inspect the original context. For a correction, prepare the creator ID, affected URL, proposed change, and a creator-owned source establishing it. Editors review account ownership before merging changes.

The “Suggest a correction or request removal” action sends a private report to the editorial queue. Owners and editors review evidence; text corrections and hide/restore decisions have an audit trail. Personal submissions remain private and do not automatically enter the public catalog. A report does not establish creator ownership.

For catalog editors and AI assistants

The catalog is served through indexed database queries with bounded pagination, search, filters, and audience sorting. Read-only JSON keeps creator IDs, account bindings, content previews, audience precision, inclusion reasons, and provenance. Private watchlists, reports, and personal submissions are excluded from public responses.

Catalog imports accepts new creator packages in batches of up to 100, with at most 500 content previews per batch. An owner or editor reviews each candidate; the owner publishes up to ten selected approvals at a time. Sources are checked manually, and uploading never contacts platforms or enables API pulls. Published additions persist in the database across site releases.
